A message from Dr. Maziad,
Welcome to Maziad Spine Institute!
I would like to personally thank you for considering us for your Spine care. It could be a challenge for any patient to fully understand what’s causing them spine related pain. But, we are here to help! I believe that a well informed patient is integral to a successful treatment outcome. At our institute, we make every effort to ensure that our patients fully understand the causes of their complaints and the different ways to treat them, giving the patient all the treatment options so they can make a well informed decision about their treatment plan.

Back and neck pains are the most common complaints in today’s society. Given the very wide spectrum of possible causes which often overlap and could be anything from psychological stress of our lifestyle to a serious underlying problem, it is important for medical providers to build strong relationships with their patients. That requires commitment to educate them about their condition and to do what it takes to alleviate their symptoms. It requires being a good listener and an astute clinician, not to mention an outstanding surgeon when surgery is needed.
For those reasons, we take all patients’ concerns seriously in order to analyze the real cause of their problem and tailor the treatment plan based on their condition, lifestyle and expectations while being respectful of their decisions at all times.
Most spine surgeons around the world do not complete any specialized fellowships in Spine surgery and in USA, the majority of spine surgeons, complete only one fellowship before they practice. Therefore, it is quite common that providers advise patients against interventions that would otherwise help them simply because they were not trained to do them. I have been fortunate to complete multiple highly specialized spine fellowships at many prestigious academic institutions in USA and was able to receive very extensive and diversified training in various Spinal interventions for all regions of the spine, ranging from simple minimally invasive procedures to sophisticated spinal osteotomies and reconstructions both in adults and pediatrics. What this means to you as a patient is that no matter how simple or complex your spinal problem is, and regardless of your age group, we can offer you a broader understanding of what may or may not help you based on true experience with different treatment approaches, techniques and protocols.
Whether the treatment involves conservative measures such as lifestyle modification, medications and physical therapy, simple interventions; like injections, nerve ablations or radiofrequency as well as endoscopic and minimally invasive procedures or even complex deformity correction and reconstructions, rest assured that I will build my recommendations based on solid academic research, backed by many years of surgical experience at top institutions in USA and applying the highest levels of technology available in order to achieve a safe and favorable outcome.
It is a big decision for you as a patient to put your trust in me as a surgeon. I truly appreciate that trust. Our goal is to work with you and your family as one team to ensure that high quality care is delivered, before, during and following any surgical procedure so we may bring you back to your normal lifestyle, as quickly and as safely as possible.
I believe that the most effective and least invasive approach for treatment should always be the first step in addressing any problem.
I look forward to helping you!
